On June 21, 2022, a 17-year-old girl escaped a brutal human trafficker at Plano's Shops at Legacy.
It started with the two conversing in front of a nail salon. However, the man became violent and stomped on the female's foot. He then punched her and threw her into his car.
Several witnesses were ready to get involved. It was at that time that victim quickly opened the door and escaped. The trafficker sped off by himself.
The victim was only 16-years-old when she was kidnapped and forced into prostitution. She was just a high schooler, who should be soaking in her teenage years. Instead, she was viciously raped, harmed, and weakened by a human trafficker.
It makes me stick to my stomach that this is the reality for women all over the globe. 1 in 3 women have experienced sexual abuse, yet only 6% of them have reported it.
So, how can you help? Donate to my fundraising page. 100% of the money will support survivors through RAINN—the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization.
Lastly, if you have been sexually assaulted, know that you are not alone. You can always reach out to me (pranika.duggal@gmail.com) or contact the National Sexual Assault Hotline. Their number is
